The School Council is an organization of parents who are interested in getting involved at WOM, and in helping enrich the lives of the students through special events, extra curricular activities, hot lunches, and funding for school sports and academic programs. We also have a formal role in making parent opinions and recommendations known to the school administration.
We have lots of opportunities for volunteers to help! See below for a description of various jobs and how much time they might take.

How can you make your voice heard at W.O. Mitchell?
If you have a specific issue you would like addressed at the school…
Come on out to a School Council meeting. Time is set aside at every meeting to take questions and comments from parents in attendance. You’ll have the ear of the school principal and a staff representative, too. Meetings take place once a month, typically the second Tuesday or second Wednesday of the month, starting at 7 p.m. in the library.
If you have an hour or two to spare for a special event…
We are always looking for volunteers for to help just for the day at WOMapalooza, our E-waste fundraiser, movie nights, and popcorn days.
