The Snowhawks program is an extra-curricular skiing program run for four weeks in February and March. The School Council sponsors this event by providing parent volunteers to supervise the storage of skis, ride the buses, and help out on the ski hill.
The program runs for four Mondays in February and March. Typically the program spends two evenings at Vorlage, and two evenings at Mont Cascades for a great, low price. Rentals can be added for a small fee, and lessons are also available if needed (and are required for beginners and first-timers).
We require several parents to ride the coach buses with the kids and supervise (staff from Snowhawks will also be present). Parents who attend will be able to ski for free.
Winter 2017 Dates: Mondays, February 6, 13, 27 and March 6

We are currently also looking for volunteers to help out with equipment storage for this program for the 2016-2017 school year.
We need two adults per time slot – 7:45-8:05 a.m. and 2:15-2:40 p.m. Morning helpers will receive and store equipment; afternoon helpers will empty the storage room and hand students their gear.
If you are an a.m. helper: Please arrive at the school for approximately 7:45 a.m. You will need to open the gym storage doors to the outside back yard. Students will be advised that all ski equipment will be stored through the outside doors, so they are not bringing snow and slush through the gym. The skis will then be taken by volunteers and put in one area of the storage room together. Stay until about 8:05 a.m., to ensure any students running late will have a chance to drop off through the back doors.
If you are a p.m. helper: Please arrive at the school for approximately 2:15 p.m. You will need to open the gym storage doors to the outside back yard. Students will be picking up their skis from these doors after school. The easiest way to get the skis handed out, is to line them up at the back walls outside, making sure one or both volunteers are standing out there until all ski equipment has been picked up. Students will come and pick up their stuff and head out to the waiting bus. Once equipment is gone, you can close up the doors and head out.
If you can help with this program in any way, please contact the the School Council Chair.
